The bowls are made of two shaped shells that are welded together along the edge. The volume of the bowls depends on the thickness of the flange.

During welding, the pressure of air trapped inside the enclosed solid increases, so the geometry requires an opening through which the air can escape so that the process can be performed safely. The tiny hole, which resembles a navel, has become the author's trademark. It’s derived from the original technique of production and can be spotted next to author's engraved signature.
